Centenary of legendary Roscommon boat builder Jimmy Furey marked with library collection
The estate of Jimmy Furey, arguably Ireland's greatest boat builder, permanently lodges his papers with Roscommon County Library to mark the centenary of his birth on March 29th. Furey, from Mount Plunkett in Lecarrow, built boats with rudimentary tools that astonished engineers when measured.
